STORIES FROM STAUDACHERHOF
Consciously take a break.
“Even a pause is part of music.” The Austrian writer Stefan Zweig once said this. We at the wellness hotel on the Zugspitze know how right he was. The world is racing. And we race along with it. Yet it is so important that we pause now and then. Consciously take a break. Take time for ourselves. And regroup. Autumn offers a wonderful opportunity for this. Many rainy days. On which it might not even be noticeable if we take a break. Cancellations. Or staying away. We should do something simple more often. Because “simple” is sometimes very healing. That is why we have compiled a few tips for this in this blog. Tips for the museum. A good book. Or for a wellness Day.
Museums around our wellness hotel at the Zugspitze
Garmisch-Partenkirchen has a lot to offer. In terms of history. Art. And CultureYou can read about them and marvel at them in the many museums. Guaranteed to be worthwhile, not just in the rain. Take the time. Unwind. And learn something about our history. It's easy to combine and always a great after shopping in Garmisch or a spa treatment in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Folklore in the Werdenfels Museum
Once a private collection, it's now one of the most impressive museums of its kind in Bavaria. Five floors of exhibition space offer a wealth of information about the region and its people. Numerous original pieces of folk art and traditional crafts can be admired here. The Werdenfels Museum building itself is worth seeing.

Aschenbrenner Museum
Be enchanted by the Arschenbrenner Museum. Its porcelain, dolls, and nativity figures. Opened in 2006, this museum is the newest in beautiful Garmisch-Partenkirchen. A modern new building houses the exhibition.
Most of the "White Gold" collectibles date back to the 18th century, from the early days of porcelain production in Europe. There are also numerous nativity scenes (nativity scenes, perhaps) to marvel at, spanning four centuries. The history of the dolls reflects the developments in fashion and educational ideals. There are also changing special exhibitions, and a varied program of guided tours, workshops, lectures, and readings. The Aschenbrenner Museum is wheelchair accessible.

Richard Strauss Institute
Richard Strauss. A man of many facets and tireless creativity. He was a composer, a conductor, a well-educated citizen, and a family man. His works and his life are exhibited at the Richard Strauss Institute in Partenkirchen. There is a concert hall, a specialist library, and an archive. An absolute highlight here in the Zugspitze region is the annual Richard Strauss Festival. We welcome music lovers from all over the world to the Hotel Staudacherhof during this time.

Who hasn't experienced those nasty, rainy or cold days? When you don't want to leave the house at all. All you want to do is curl up on the sofa. Why not just do it?
For days like these, we at the wellness hotel on the Zugspitze have a great book recommendation for you.
