Celebrate the New Year with the New Year's Jump
1922. The first New year jumping in Garmisch. Initially as a standalone event on the ski jump. From 1952 onwards, it became the Four Hills Tournament. The event started in Oberstdorf. It continued in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the Olympic ski jump. Then in Innsbruck. And finally in Bischofshofen. Over 100 years of tradition. And thousands of visitors. To this day, it remains one of the most important annual sporting events in Europe. The record is an incredible 144 m.
Over 25.000 spectators are expected each year in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Millions also watch the event on television at home. In 2022, there were 5,45 million viewers, who rang in the new year with the New Year's ski jumping.
