Tradition & Philosophy at Hotel Garmisch
On the mountain of mountains. In the heart of the charming city Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Located here is our traditional, historic, and lifestyle hotel, the Staudacherhof. The hotel has been in existence since 1907, and since then, it has been distinguished by its warm, family atmosphere, exceptional cuisine, a unique BAYURVIDA® lifestyle concept, and a relaxing wellness oasis. It's known as a place for those seeking peace, for gourmets, and for summiteers!
In this blog post, we'd like to take you on a journey through the Staudacherhof. Learn about the hotel's philosophy, its tradition, and what makes our hotel in Garmisch special.
Living tradition at the Hotel Garmisch
Long-established. Known to everyone. And still a family business: That's the Hotel Garmisch Staudacherhof. The Staudachers are particularly proud of their long history of hospitality.TraditionAnd the coat of arms. It's still omnipresent today. A mural adorns the tower of the Staudacherhof – featuring a shield, laurel branch, leaves, and a helmet. The formerly charming villa has been owned by the Staudacher family since 1907. It evolved from a cozy guesthouse into a trendy wellness hotel, with a total of 49 comfortable rooms. Eight of these are located in the adjacent, rustic and cozy farmhouse, which dates back 350 years.
Dagmar and Peter Staudacher have been managing the hotel since 2008. They skillfully and consistently maintain their finger on the pulse of the times. Thanks to them, modernity and tradition go hand in hand. Every guest is greeted with warmth. This sense of well-being can be felt in every corner of the Hotel Garmisch.
A retreat for those seeking peace
Pure pampering moments can be found in the Wellness area at the Hotel Garmisch. Here, relaxation comes naturally. On 1.400 m², with an indoor pool. A heated outdoor pool. A sauna area with rock showers. Ayurvedic treatments. Yoga in a variety of forms. All this invites you to relax. To let go. To regenerate. And to treat yourself to a break. Selected treatments. And successful metabolism concepts. As well as personalized advice. Ensure peaceful hours and a lasting effect on your health.
The wellness oasis at Hotel Garmisch is just the place. For moments of peace after a mountain hike or for days of pure relaxation beneath the Zugspitze.
A favorite place for gourmets
“It is time to combine our knowledge and skills with traditional methods and create something completely unique” – Peter Staudacher
The foundation for the holistic and unique life concept BAYURVIDA®. Laid by Peter Staudacher. Cristian Zanfir, yoga teacher and Ayurvedic therapist. And Sascha Horst, natural chef at Hotel Garmisch. It's a sustainable interplay of good food. Yoga. And Ayurveda. Bavarian style! Home-style cooking is reinterpreted. Made wholesome with Ayurvedic herbs and local counterparts. The ingredients are also regional. Meat and fish are not entirely avoided, but only of the highest quality. There are also Ayurvedic treatments with high-quality oils. Yoga. Burnout prevention. Naturally based cosmetic lines. And guided hikes. The concept runs through the entire hotel. It's an important part of the Staudacherhof identity.
An Eldorado for summiteers
Whether spring, summer, autumn, or winter, there's plenty to experience in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and at the Staudacherhof in every season! In winter, snow-covered peaks beckon skiers and snowboarders. To the Garmisch Classic ski area, to the Kandahar downhill run, or to the Zugspitze ski area. And the hiking paradise with its lush nature, dreamy valleys, and mountains awaits you as soon as the snow melts.
For example, during a guided Hike. With the certified UILMA mountain hiking guide, you'll be heading high! The climb to the local mountain, the Wank, is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. It offers stunning views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. Or take a longer hike to the imposing Kramerspitz. The "biggest" highlight: the Zugspitze! Climb to the mountain of mountains on a challenging hike. The reward is breathtaking views. And the pride of having climbed Germany's highest peak.
