STORIES FROM STAUDACHERHOF
Sustainable digitalization with Green Options at our Hotel Garmisch
Sustainability. An attitude. Towards resource-efficient living. How do you combine business operations and sustainability? And what does digital sustainability actually mean for the Wellness Hotel Garmisch?
Ecological action. Is omnipresent for the hotel team. And part of everyday working life. The electricity that runs through the entire hotel is green. From renewable energies. Also for our guests. They can conveniently charge their cars. At one of our e-charging stations. For their next excursion. In Garmisch-Partenkirchen. And the surrounding area. But that's not all. We have e-scooters for rent. E-mountain bikes. And e-city bikes. For all those who want to try out e-mobility. But sustainability doesn't stop there in our hotel. It continues. In the spa and Wellness area Natural cosmetics are used. Our kitchen cooks regionally and seasonally. This, too, means sustainability to us. Short transport routes. Local producers and suppliers. Here with us. In. Werdenfelser Land.
And sustainable digitalization? We have it in our hotel rooms! Read how it works in this blog post.
The digital guest directory
The normal holiday routine of a guest looks like this: Check-in and arrival at the booked RoomsFirst, you put down your luggage. Walk through the room and inspect it. And then your eyes fall on a folder. The guest folder. Opened, you'll find the following pages: the welcome letter, emergency numbers, breakfast and dinner times, room cleaning times, and even information brochures from partners and nearby leisure and cultural facilities. Closed and put away again. Over the course of your stay, you misplace it or search for it several times. The guest folder. The information you needed? Gone!
Something can be done about this. The magic word: sustainable digitalization. Paperwork and paper waste. Goodbye!
Everything bundled on one device. A tablet. All the information. Just like in the analog guest directory.
The SuitPad is available in every room. This allows every guest to access the information they require, at any time. And to contact us. Because it provides the opportunity for interaction. Between us and the guest. Unlike with a conventional guest folder, guests can book wellness treatments, express menu preferences, or simply communicate with us. This makes it easy to respond to requests more quickly. No more phone calls or notes, where information can get lost. This is our sustainable digitalization.
Green Options
Just because it saves paper doesn't mean a digital guest directory is sustainable enough. We go further. For you, our guests, and for us, the hotel. But above all, for the environment. With just one click, you have the choice. Choosing Green Options. Act sustainably digitally.
Room cleaning
Daily room cleaning. Some guests love it. Others don't. Room cleaning incurs costs. Vast amounts of water and cleaning agents are used, which are sometimes unnecessary. The solution? With a click, guests can opt in or out of room cleaning. And if something falls on the floor or needs to be wiped up, just one click. And our housekeeping team will take care of it.
And since there's a lot of savings to be made now, we want to reward our guests with karma points. It's good for you. It's good for the hotel. And, most importantly, it's good for our environment.
Laundry service
Another important aspect of our service is our laundry service. Guests can order new bed linens or towels. Simply indicate in SuitPad when they need something fresh. This reduces the amount of laundry, saves detergent, saves electricity, and, above all, saves water.
This is just the beginning. Of sustainable digitalization. A little more every day. We, too, learn something new every day. We acquire knowledge. We plan and implement things. For the environment. And for sustainable digitalization.
And this is what hotelier Peter Staudacher himself says about sustainability
“Ecological awareness must be present everywhere – and thus what we at Staudacherhof generally stand for: quality of life!”
