In short: everyone who's drawn to summery Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Long live summer! And we with it.
Active & sporty
Hiking
Quiet forests. Blooming alpine meadows. Romantic lakes and rushing mountain streams. Crowned by majestic peaks. A dreamlike landscape. One of the most charming in the Bavarian Alps. The Wetterstein Mountains. The Karwendel. An El Dorado for particularly impressive hikes. Over 300 km of hiking trails beckon. Some are easy and enjoyable. Others are strenuous and strenuous. It's good that refreshments are also provided at the many alpine pastures and huts in the area.

Mountaineering & Climbing
The Zugspitze. The Alpspitze. Just two names in this magnificent mountain scenery. A paradise for mountaineers. Grip by grip toward the summit. Through rock. Over ridges. Through challenging routes, like the Jubiläumsgrat. Or over well-secured via ferratas, like the Alpspitz-Ferrata. A challenge and an experience in equal measure. For experts and beginners alike. This mountain world is fascinating. This panorama is breathtaking. By the way: Indoor climbing is also possible. In the DAV bouldering hall in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Just in case the summer highs give way to lows.
Golf
Beautiful play. On stunning courses. But also because the scenery here is so unique. Teeing off with a view of the Zugspitze. Germany's highest mountain! Who can offer that? Several courses here do. The Garmisch-Partenkirchen Golf Club and the Werdenfels Golf Club are right on your doorstep. 21 more can be reached within an hour. Leisure golf takes on a whole new meaning here.
The extra for our guests:
Don't have your golf bag with you? No problem. We'll lend you golf equipment.

Rafting & Canyoning
Over wild waters. Through narrow gorges. Rarely has one experienced water in such an adventurous way. Fun and excitement alternate. Unforgettable experiences in the cool waters of crystal-clear mountain streams. Teamwork in a raft boat to master the rapids. Maximum safety while abseiling to overcome waterfalls. Both have the potential to be addictive.
Nature & Enjoyment
Swimming
Dive in. Into cool water. Where it's most beautiful. In the fresh, crystal-clear waters of a mountain lake. There are several options in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area: in Pflegersee, Riessersee, Geroldsee, or Eibsee. Beautiful natural pools for a relaxing day of swimming. And for a warming bath in the sun. Views of the magnificent natural scenery are standard everywhere here. Summer, that's how I like you!
Family & children
Flying Fox
Fly! You don't have to be a ski jumper to do it in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In summer, anyone can take off here. Feel what it's like. And land safely again. The Flying Fox makes it possible. A rapid descent into the valley. Safely secured on a wire rope. 270 meters through the air. Thrills are guaranteed. And yet the fun outweighs everything. For young and old. Because everyone can fly here.
Summer toboggan run
Tobogganing in the summer? It's possible. In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, tobogganing doesn't necessarily require snow. Just the summer toboggan run. Right next to the ski stadium. Twelve curves, 850 meters long. That sounds like fun. And speed. You'll zoom toward the finish at speeds of up to 60 km/h. It's good that you're well secured in the sled. And you can also take it slower, if you feel like it.
Culture & Tradition
Festwochen
Now it's time to celebrate! With everything that goes with it. Parades, traditional costume groups, Schuhplattler dances. Of course, beer tents and traditional music too. A living tradition. It's been a tradition for more than half a century. It's celebrated every year. First in Garmisch. Then in Partenkirchen. Plenty of opportunities to join in the celebrations up close. Always in July or August.
Richard Strauss Days
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is dedicated to classical music. In honor of the great Richard Strauss. Extraordinary sound experiences. International orchestras. And some of the most famous voices in classical music. A top-class festival that attracts music lovers from all over the world.
Highlights
Summer solstice
Midsummer bonfires in the mountains. On the longest day of the year. Always in June. A beautiful custom. With a long tradition. We're celebrating too! With a Midsummer bonfire right in our garden. And with you. Admittedly, it's not as spectacular as a mountain bonfire on the Zugspitze. But we'll be having a barbecue. Until at least 22 p.m. The spa and garden area will remain open that long. It'll be fun!
